The Wine
Since Stéphane Robert and his wife Sandrine founded their domaine in 1994 they have attracted enormous praise from the likes of Decanter, Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate. The 10-hectare property stretches across three prestigious appellations – Cornas, Saint-Joseph and Saint-Péray – and their wines have become reference points for all three. Stunning complexity, richness, power and intensity are apparent in every wine. Perhaps that should be of no surprise, when Stéphane was an apprentice at the renowned Domaine Jean-Louis Grippat. He obviously has very natural talent too. Blending 15 parcels of old vines grapes from this tiny region and ageing in seasoned barrels for 14 months, this is long, complex, powerful red that'll reward cellaring.
