Vougeraie is a superb family estate, "a major player in top quality, occasionally profound Burgundy" (Neal Martin). Their methods throughout are meticulous. "Certainly a vintage worth buying" said Decanter of 2020. A fine, silky, perfumed red.

The Story Behind the Bottle
Few estates in Burgundy are as meticulous as this domaine, founded only 24 years ago. The family pride themselves on superbly placed vineyards throughout Burgundy, all of them certified organic and now biodynamic too. Put simply, this approach takes organic farming to the next level and encourages biodiversity in the vineyard to help strengthen the vines. This results in a purer expression of each terroir and superb quality wine in your glass. This glorious vintage Côte de Beaune uses grapes from a fine vineyard next door to Savigny-Lès-Beane and Beaune 1er Cru, Les Bressandes. Ageing in a third new oak barrels for a year lends even more layers of complexity and depth to this fine red. A real gem, open early and decant, or cellar.
