The Story Behind the Bottle
Champagne Vieille France has over 250 years of history. Starting with prized vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, Léon Le Brun founded the house in 1860 and the business remained in the family for over 135 years. In 2003 the Rapeneau family took charge, vowing to give the wines a new lease of life and as a mark of respect to its origins, they reintroduced the 18th-century styled bottle which they use today. Their superb Brut Réserve is 40% Chardonnay, plus 30% of both Pinot Noir and Meunier, all from Montagne de Reims. With bright, citrusy aromas and hints of rose petals, it’s a superbly elegant Champagne, with poised fruit, salinity and crisp minerality. A delight sipped on its own with canapés or a fine match for white meats or fish.
