The Wine
Awards won by the Boschendal wine estate are too numerous to mention. There are scores of medals, trophies and top marks every year. This historic property, founded 330 years ago, lies between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Careful restoration over the last decade has made it a wonderful tourist destination, and a terrific place to search out great wine, with substantial plantings of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and other varieties. They have recently added 450,000 new fruit trees and invested in Black Angus cattle, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats and fish! This zippy-fresh pink is named after Boschendal’s most famous landmark. All Pinotage it’s fruity and crisp – perfect sipping solo and great with creamy pasta, risotto or seafood.
