Vignerons de Bel Air Morgon 2018

Morgon AOP

From an award winning cellar established back in 1929 comes this silky, velvety ‘king of Beaujolais’ cru wine. A typical Morgon, this is a supple, luscious Beaujolais full of rich, ripe cherry and plum fruit. Brimful with serious Gamay charm.

For silky fruit with real freshness and verve, you can’t beat a drop of Beaujolais, and the crus from this region offer you even more layers of flavour and finesse. That’s thanks to granitic shale soils which produce in the grapes a mineral edge and delicious intensity. Above all, there is Morgon – the cru renowned for its ability to age into velvet softness. Quality has been outstanding for the last four vintages, although many suffered hail in two of those. It’s a tough life for vignerons but the wines are magnificent. Enjoy lots of bright cherry fruit and freshness in this seductive red. It’s from a cellar founded in 1929 by a small group of conscientious growers. The wine’s acidity makes it a great match with ham, charcuterie and duck.
