This prestige Champagne, presented in a gift box, should be reserved for a special occasion. It’s from one of the best known Champagne houses, Moët et Chandon, established in 1743. This 2015 is showing a little maturity, complexity and length and will cellar well for a many years yet. Pinot Noir excelled in 2015 and is a major part of this blend, supported by Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Low yields accounted for even more intensity. Hugh Johnson writes that Moët’s vintage wines are “always a good representative of the character of each vintage, yet with that supple, creamy style that runs through the whole Moët range”. Aged long in the cellar on its lees and at least six months after disgorgement, this Champagne will continue to mature.
