The Wine
JancisRobinson.com described 2017 as "A lovely vintage north to south: wines singing their heart out,” while Neal Martin of Vinous called them "bloody awesome"! So have high expectations of this charm filled Chorey Lès Beaune. It's from a small family domaine dating back to 1702, which passed down the female side until the birth of Lucien Camus in 1949. He married Bernadette Bruchon and since 2001, their son Guillaume and daughter Alexandra, the oenologist at renowned Albert Bichot, have gradually taken charge. Situated in Savigny, they have plots of enviably old vines, which accounts for the quality and consistency they achieve. Fine Wine manager Gus McLean called this "one of my picks of the vintage". Open early, decant and savour.
