France’s Alsace prides itself on its pure fruit wines, and the refreshing Cuvée Cinq is no exception. A medium dry blend of mostly Riesling with splashes of aromatic Muscat and spicy Gewurztraminer, the wine is lime fresh with exotic fruit and spice.

The Wine
Lying on the eastern edge of France, next to Germany and the Vosges mountains, Alsace boasts long sunshine hours, along with that breeze of mountain freshness. The result is enchanting wines of real fruit purity and not a touch of oak. This is one from the Gisselbrecht family’s 350 year old cellar. The brothers Philippe and Claude are the latest generation in charge and decided to create a range of premium wines under the Pierre Brecht label. Most Alsace wines are single varietal, but this is a tasty blend of five cuvées - lime fresh Riesling with grapey Muscat and Gewurztraminer (some late harvest for added ripeness). With notes of bright apple, pear, lychee and spice, it's ideal to sip solo or with creamy fish, chicken or spicy noodles.

Very nice Alsace. Lovely refined example of the aromatic off dry freshness of the region
