The Story Behind the Bottle
Finca Valpiedra Reserva is a very special release from the much lauded Martínez Bujanda family. Growers in the Rioja region since 1889, they built a state of the art cellar in 1984 and have never looked back. They have always had a very innovative approach to winemaking and a reputation for outstanding quality. In the 1990s, they bought the fabulous Valpiedra estate, nestled in a bend of the Ebro river. Here, a particularly beneficial microclimate helps produce great wines. Tempranillo supported by perfumed Graciano and the ancient, hugely rare Maturano Tinto grape, this wine is matured in new French oak casks. Rich, elegant and well structured, almost like a top claret, it will make a grand partner with lamb, beef or feathered game.
