Occasionally, cellars find themselves with surplus wine, even boutique wineries like the one where Dan sourced the lip smacking Sauvignon. Sometimes, if they’re short of cellar space, or they need up-front cash, they’ll sell their surplus at a knock down price, providing their name remains a secret – after all, they must protect their reputation. Deals like these rarely reach our shores as they’re snapped up by Aussie merchants – if not down the road, at least in a similar time zone.
