The quality of wines coming from South Africa has never been better. The FT described them as "gorgeous, often underpriced". This is a crisp, zingy Sauvignon Blanc, made from three parcels of grapes to get a tasty balance of ripe fruit and freshness.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Wine
"South African winemakers are producing an abundance of world-class wines" wrote the Press. Excelsior Estate has been doing that for 150 years, since its foundation in Robertson in 1870. Today it’s still owned by the De Wet family, with father and son duo – Freddie and Peter – running the show. Their philosophy is that great wine is made in the vineyard, so much care is given to the vines. Little Hill Sauvignon is made from three different cuvées, each benefiting from a cooling ocean breeze. One parcel is picked particularly early for freshness and lemony zip, the second has a riper, more tropical style, while the third is from cooler, high-altitude vineyards for long flavour. All together - just the right balance of fruit and vivacity.
