Gold medal winner and two scores of 94 points – Dogs of the Barossa is a top ranking Shiraz. As sleek and intense as the beast on the label and bristling with dark spicy flavour. A terrific red from highly creative Barossa winemaking studio RedHeads.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.
The Wine
Only just released, Dogs of the Barossa 2016 has already stormed two wine shows. The wine is the story of a young dog in an old dog’s world. The ‘dog’ in this case is RedHeads studio proving its worth in the Barossa, an area with some of the oldest vineyards in the world. Shiraz vines nearly 200 years old – France can’t get near it. The tiny cellar first established itself and led the pack in McLaren Vale. Now it’s showing its class in the Barossa, among some of the most iconic names of Australian wine (Henschke, Penfolds, Wolf Blass). The ethos of this cellar has always been to innovate and the winery can now boast a cult following for its small range of wines, particularly the Dogs. This powerful Shiraz is still young, so decant early.

Great bold Shiraz. Very good example of Barossa Shiraz. Bold flavour, strong but balanced tannins
