Jérémy Villemaine Touraine Chenonceaux Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Touraine AOC
Loading...
Touraine lies just west of the Loire's famous Sancerre appellation. At his family estate, Jérémy Villemaine shows us that his wines are very similar in style, but come at a sensible price! Grassy fresh, with lemon, lime and green-apple intensity.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Wine
Jérémy Villemaine's family have been owners of this domaine for almost 200 years. It lies close to the river Cher, a tributary of the Loire, and home to the beautiful Château de Chenonceaux. Jérémy proudly grows purely classic Touraine grapes – Gamay, Cabernet and Côt (aka Malbec) for his reds, Pineau d'Aunis for pinks and Sauvignon Blanc for his riveting fresh whites. He's mindful of looking after the land too, sustainably farming the vineyards, all of them with HVE (Haute Valeur Environmentale) status and slowly turning a number of them to organic production. Grapes for his white are all taken from 30-year-old vines, which produce grapes of excellent intensity. Ten months lees ageing adds a little creamy weight. A classic with seafood.
