The Wine
Secure an exceptional northern Rhône red with Domaine de Saint Pierre Cornas from the great Jaboulet. "2019 is clearly a vintage of extremely high quality" wrote Vinous, echoing many. This family estate was founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet in the now-prized Tain L'Hermitage. Today, it boasts a number of properties in its portfolio. More recently, in 2006, it was acquired and subsequently nurtured by the Frey family, owners too of Château La Lagune in Bordeaux and Burgundy's Château Corton-André. Their Rhônes are regarded as some of the very finest of France, all certified organic and following biodynamic principles. In 2021 they won a top Drinks Business award for biodiversity. This fine Cornas is perfumed and nuanced, yet full and ripe.
