The Wine
Champagne Krug was founded in 1843 by Johann Joseph Krug, a maverick who turned his back on a comfortable position in an established Champagne house to strike out on his own – thus founding what was to become one of Champagne’s most revered names. Winemaking at Krug is very traditional, with fermentation taking place in small oak barrels. The house calls their Vintage Brut 'the music of the year' – showing the distinct character of each vintage. In 2008, the coolest for 14 years, that means classic elegance. Aged in the cellars for a total of 12 years, this Vintage Brut is still very tight and racy, needing time to develop. Your patience will be rewarded with a Champagne of remarkable complexity and elegance. Ideal for a special occasion.
