A dazzling duo of fantastic fizz from the Wyfold vineyard
After a dream debut saw Barbara Laithwaite's boutique Wyfold Vineyard Brut 2009 named grand champion in London, beating 82 rivals, it's no surprise you'll find this fizz at the finest restaurants - like Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons. After a Trophy and a Gold for the 2010 and 2011, we have very high hopes for the exceptional 2013: creamy notes, lemon fruit and very fine bubbles. That's followed by the first pink fizz to be released from Barbara's Wyfold vineyard. 2014 was a great vintage and has produced a fine bubbly with intense fruit, bright minerality and rich rounded style. Its toasty berry finish delighted judges who gave it Gold.
Laithwaite's began in 1969, when geography student Tony Laithwaite took a job washing bottles in Bordeaux ...
and fell in love with wine and the people who make it. When he borrowed a van to share their delicious wines with
friends and neighbours at home, things went so well that hundreds of little wineries all around the world were soon
queuing to take part. Today we're the UK's No.1 home-delivery wine merchant, with over 1,500 wines to choose from
including red, white, rosé, Champagne, Prosecco, spirits ... you name it. Tony's still at it - and now really good
at washing bottles. Read more
