Lady Farrington is a wine that fully deserves its aristocratic title. It’s a zesty Chenin Blanc – South Africa’s speciality white. But this is a Chenin with a difference as it’s been vinified and aged with a little oak. So, you get all the fresh orchard fruit flavours you’d expect from a lip-smacking Chenin, underpinned by a gentle layer of vanilla oak. A brilliant all round white that’s perfect as an aperitif and just as good with creamy chicken dishes. Why the name? The estate belonged to Margaret Farrington, who took sole charge when her husband died in 1961. Through hard work she took it to such new heights of quality that her peers bestowed her the title of ‘Lady Farrington’. This wine is for her – and everyone who loves great Chenin.
