Just in the last five years, the now fashionable Albariño grape has taken the world by storm. We all love Sauvignon and Albariño has similar lemony brilliance, yet with extra texture and depth. This grape was a once a well kept secret but it’s now so widely admired that winemakers the world over are growing it and trying to capture its distinctive aromas and freshness. But the best, so far, hails from its native Rías Baixas in northwest Spain. Our Buyer Beth has a brilliant network of contacts and it is no surprise she was offered this cuvée from a top class cellar – a little spare after a bumper crop. All hand picked and aged slowly on its lees for extra richness and complexity, it's delicious drop. Savour with seafood or on its own.

"Citrus-charged with a refreshing mineral kick, this is a terrific white" Beth Willard
