More information
The cru village of Vacqueyras lies close to Châteauneuf du Pape and produces sensational wines at a more affordable price. Only a tiny amount is white though, which makes this glorious, top vintage, mineral laced white even more special. Domaine Montirius is a small, highly acclaimed, fifth generation estate run by Christine and Eric Saurel. Here they use all native varieties from 30 year old vines and crop at very small yields. They follow biodynamic principles (even more rigorous than organic) to ensure absolute purity of fruit and expression of the terroir. The vineyards teem with flora and fauna and there is no denying the wine tastes remarkable. Bourboulenc, Grenache and Roussanne carefully fermented with natural yeasts and zero oak.
