Roederer is one of Champagne’s Grandes Marques and their Brut Premier has received high praise. An essential fizz for celebrations for more than a century. As Jancis Robinson MW notes, it really is “deliciously superior”. The Roederer family sources most of its grapes from 200 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards and the wine is aged for a minimum of three and a half years before release, for lavish richness and complexity. This release is based upon the 2015 vintage, blended with 25% reserve wine. It was described as having "crisp yellow orchard fruit, Anjou pear, white peach, pastry cream and subtle hints of freshly baked bread" (Wine Advocate). Enjoy at a special celebration, by itself or with canapés (smoked salmon blinis ideal).
