La Poulardière 2018

Côtes du Rhône AOP

This silky red perfectly captures the ripeness, depth and sheer drinkability of the best Côtes du Rhône wines. From Olivier Ravoire, who lives and breathes the Rhône, the wine is from a hot summer vintage and is brimful with peppery black fruit.

From a region long famed as being home to the best value wines in France, this Côtes du Rhône is a cut above. It’s a special cuvée blended by Olivier Ravoire, whose family cellar works with a handful of small family properties in both Provence and the Rhône. Combining two classic red grapes of the southern Rhône, this red has attractive depth of flavour and spicy complexity with lots of soft, ripe bramble fruit. It’s already very approachable, thanks to the warmth of the Mediterranean climate and a hot summer vintage. Vignerons had to be very vigilant during the spring of 2018 due to humidity, but the reward was a small crop of intense, ripe grapes and attractive, well balanced reds. Enjoy La Poulardière with herby casseroles or at a bbq.
