Founded in 1849, the Von Buhl estate has an illustrious history. Their wines were some of the finest in the 19th century and today, once more, have the same vaulted reputation. They boast some of the best-placed vineyards in the whole Pfalz region, with 8 Grands Crus and 6 Premiers Crus. Indeed, the quality of these sites once seduced the Maître de Chai from Champagne’s top house, Bollinger, away from his post to take up the position as headwinemaker at Von Buhl. The high plateau of Kieselberg has been renowned for fine wines since 1828. A cold wind and loamy sand soils ensure ravishing freshness, while ageing in neutral oak develops a creaminess, zipped through by Riesling's pure lemon minerality. Drink or cellar. It'll age magnificently.
