More information
Malbec is queen bee in Argentina and Shiraz reigns supreme in Australia, yet try this luscious, black fruit red and you can only wonder why Chile has been slow to follow suit. It comes from the grand 19th century Tarapacá estate and prime vineyards, nestled in a sheltered valley, high in the Andes foothills. Intense, floral and spicy, with blackberry and cassis fruit, this impressive 2016 is an ideal candidate for roast lamb or beef – altogether a great winter warmer. Our relationship with Tarapacá goes back to the 1990s. Every year, renowned winemaker Cristian Humberto and our Buyer, Davy Zyw, taste their way through the cellar to pick out the best tasting vats. Two stood out for power, and together craft a red that’s ideal with roasts.
