When Tuscany’s winemaking revolution took off in the 1970s, whites of northeast Italy did the same. Quality soared and so did prices. Our Visionario is made to a similar recipe, a ‘baby’ Cru style white – creamy, characterful, fresh, yet top value.

Looking for a top Italian white? Chances are you’ll head straight for Friuli in northeast Italy. There you’ll find famous name producers such as Felluga, Jermann, Livorno, whose wines go easily for £50+ a bottle. Next door to these renowned vineyards, however, you’ll find our good friend and winemaker Alessandro Gallici, strolling through the vines with local growers. For this is where he sources the grapes for our much loved Visionario. The wine uses a similar ‘recipe’ to this region’s high priced whites – a blend of top local grapes as well as international varieties. Featuring Friulano as the main grape, plus Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Gewurztraminer, this is a really classy white, but as always Alessandro keeps it at a great value price.
