Uvaris Rioja 2017

Rioja DOCa

This young Rioja is all about lush berry fruit – and not a whisper of oak. It’s a tasty, moreish sort of red from a top winemaking team in Spain. Our Buyer Beth liked it so much she took the lot. A great value, easy drinking red – perfect any time.

Rioja can produce seriously rich, oaky reds for ageing, but the region can also create wines like Uvaris. Its charm lies in its soft, delectable berry fruit and appealing silky texture without a glimmer of oak. When our Buyer for Spain, Beth, tasted it at the headquarters of the same team that is behind favourites Viña Nava and Palacio del Conde, she was seriously impressed and reserved the lot. You’ll understand why when you pour yourself a glass – the wine is brimful of simple red berry fruit and is deliciously fresh, silky and easy – dangerously moreish. A real no-fuss red crafted from just over two thirds Tempranillo with a portion of raspberry rich Garnacha. It’s suitable for all sorts of occasions – just pop the cork and enjoy!
