When we first previewed this at a customer tasting, it scored double the points of its nearest rival. Filippo Baccalaro combines ripe Montepulciano, cherry fresh Sangiovese, dark Primitivo and spicy Negroamaro for incredible, mouthfilling flavour.

Rounded and ripe. Cherry, tar and liquorice complexity
Ultima Edizione started a few years back as a special project from renowned winemaker Filippo Baccalaro, who makes all our bestselling Farnese wines. Based in an ancient castle in Abruzzo, this superb cellar has been named Italy’s ‘Winery of the Year’ three times in a row. We have been working with Filippo for many years and for this wine we gave him free rein to produce the best red possible, regardless of region. He cherry picked tiny parcels of premium soft, ripe Montepulciano and Sangiovese from Abruzzo, and dark Primitivo and spicy Negroamaro from sun baked vineyards in Puglia in the deep south. He barrel aged and blended the parts to produce this intensely flavoured red. Weighty, it’s best with roasted pork belly or a beany casserole.
"A deep, vibrant red wine. Deep , flavoursome , great value for a full bodied wine"
