Hard to find a better Shiraz for the money. It’s a small batch special from a big name in Coonawarra – the premium Aussie region famous for its red soils and hefty price tags. But not today: we got you a special price – if we don’t name the cellar!

If you enjoy seriously top notch Aussie wines, and you’re partial to a bargain, you’ll love this concept. When premium cellars need to sell off excess stock in a hurry, they bottle them with plain labels – or ‘cleanskins’ – and sell them at low, cellar door prices. Perhaps unsurprisingly, cleanskins seldom make it out of Oz because savvy locals snap them up fast. You need to be in the right place at the right time, so it pays to have a savvy wine buyer based Down Under. Like our Dan Parrott, who used his Coonawarra contacts to secure this intense, richly flavoured Shiraz. We’d love to name the cellar but we promised to protect their reputation. Trust us, you won’t care once you taste your first fruity mouthful. Great with rich pasta dishes.
