The Mulberry Bush 2015

Robertson WO

Our Buyer Davy Zyw rates Bon Courage one of his favourite Cape estates and it’s easy to see why. Mulberry Bush, crafted by third generation winemaker Jacques Bruwer and wingman Philip Viljoen, shows Robertson Shiraz and Merlot at their fruity best.

Leading wine writers Hugh Johnson and Robert Joseph agree Robertson stands out in the Cape for quality and value. And Bon Courage is firmly at the forefront of Robertson’s top wineries. Just a few years ago at the South African Young Wines Show 2009 Bon Courage had nine Champion Wines and 19 Gold medals. This wine is a celebration of the renowned, sweet mulberry aromas and flavours of Shiraz and Merlot grown in the Robertson region. Nestled between two mountain ranges, Robertson’s vineyards benefit from warm, sunny days and cool, misty nights thanks to the nearby Indian Ocean. Mirroring the aromas, the velvet smooth plum, mulberry and fig flavours of this delicious red provide an effective pairing with sausages, burgers and grilled steaks.

"Just as the name suggests, The Mulberry Bush is a riot of soft red fruit flavours" Davy Zyw
