More information
Named after a famously picturesque stretch of South Africa’s coastline, The Garden Route is a delightful Chenin Blanc. It's from the 2018 vintage, when drought conditions in the Cape resulted in the smallest harvest in 13 years. You might have seen it on the news – the authorities weren’t sure if they had enough water for all the local population, let alone for winemakers. But it’s not all doom and gloom. When vines are made to struggle, although they can’t yield as much fruit as usual, the grapes they do produce are packed with concentrated flavour. And that means you’re in for a treat when you pour your first glass – it’s like biting into a crisp, green apple. Ideal to serve when friends pop by unexpectedly and a refreshing garden tipple!
