Around the world in 12 flavour-packed, small batch beers
Here's a case that shows we know a thing or two about beer as well as wine - star pick is from one of Tony Laithwaite's own sons! Will chose hops over grapes and set up the Loose Cannon brewery giving us Red Rye, which boasts the perfect balance of bite and crispness with delicious malty flavours. Another from Loose Cannon is the refreshingly hoppy Session IPA - unfiltered to deliver maximum flavour. There's also a pale ale from The Wild Beer Co in Bibble, a word which in Somerset means to drink regularly, and you'll find it hard not to with this beer's irresistibly smooth, bready flavours. Enjoy all these and more in this case of craft beer.
Laithwaite's began in 1969, when geography student Tony Laithwaite took a job washing bottles in Bordeaux ...
and fell in love with wine and the people who make it. When he borrowed a van to share their delicious wines with
friends and neighbours at home, things went so well that hundreds of little wineries all around the world were soon
queuing to take part. Today we're the UK's No.1 home-delivery wine merchant, with over 1,500 wines to choose from
including red, white, rosé, Champagne, Prosecco, spirits ... you name it. Tony's still at it - and now really good
at washing bottles. Read more
