For fruit, character and value, it’s difficult to beat Eden Grove. This is a new release from the Littore winery – owned for decades by the Littore family. In 1953 they left Sicily for Melbourne and started a new life in Oz. With wine in the blood, it was no surprise they planted a vineyard and later built a winery. Today Andrew Byers is in charge of the cellar – a well travelled winemaker, who had intended to be a vet! Instead he became distracted by golf (his dad wasn’t impressed), then fell in love with winemaking during a stint at the Villa Maria winery. He certainly has a talent and was awarded 'Australian Wine of the Year' in 2018 for a Shiraz. Enjoy the mouthfilling, juicy fruit of this red on its own or with weekday suppers.
