Chat with Vinny
Gloriously decadent fruit gin harking back to the 1950s, second golden age of the cocktail. Back then, fruit gins were all the rage, and while this modern day example is delicious sipped solo, it’s also great for mixing. Try with ginger ale and lime.
Tasting notes
Sweet and sour caramel with rich caramel
Aroma
A combination of zesty pineapple and toasty caramel
Inspired by tales of old, That Boutique-y Gin Company, based in Tonbridge, Kent, have resurrected one of the great fruit gins and given it a 21st century twist – the result is Spit-Roasted Pineapple Gin. Whole, peeled pineapples are lavishly coated with Demerara sugar and spit-roasted until the sugar caramelises. The base gin has a classic recipe with botanicals including juniper, coriander, angelica, orange, lemon, nutmeg, cassia, cinnamon, orris and liquorice. Pineapple and base together make up this luxurious and devilishly indulgent gin, bottled at 40.1%. The toasted sugar and caramelised pineapple are reminiscent of a pineapple fritter, while the brighter, juicer pineapple notes of underlying fruit cry out to be mixed in tiki drinks.
