Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Bourgogne Rouge 2016

Bourgogne AOC

Wine Advocate describes this domaine as “one of the most ‘in’” right now and their wines are delicious and appealing. Take this village Burgundy that tastes much grander than its village appellation suggests. Pretty, floral with crunchy red fruits.

Domaine Bachelet Monnot is earning rave reviews and being touted as one of the finest new producers to emerge in Burgundy. The estate lies in Puligny, where brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet make very fine wines. They also own superb vineyard sites all over the region. Critic Neal Martin says: “If you have not discovered the Bachelet brothers yet, it’s time to do so.” For this charming, fine village red the brothers take three parcels of grapes – all Pinot Noir, from Puligny, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and Maranges – and carefully blend them to get a beautifully balanced, perfumed red. The lovely ripe fruit of this wine is evidence of a fine, warm summer. A delightful red to serve with white meats and mushroom dishes. Open early and decant.

"Such a pretty cranberry and raspberry preserve scented bouquet. Crunchy red fruit" Neal Martin
