Prestige du Capitole Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Comté Tolosan IGP

From a modern cellar close to Gaillac and Toulouse comes this serious, fruit-filled Cabernet. It has just the right balance of ripe black fruit and firm tannins to produce a wine with the juicy crunch to partner food. Authentic France at its best.

Comté Tolosan is an ancient wine producing region within South West France. The Romans were the first to discover its potential. They liked the hilly aspect, planted vines, and made some of their finest wines here. A few centuries ago, wines from Comté Tolosan were more highly rated than those of Bordeaux. They are close to authentic wines of Gaillac and Cahors too. This is a tasty Cabernet with lovely depth and fruit power made by American winemaker Nicola McPheeter working at a cellar near Toulouse. From Arizona, she’s worked all over the world, including Australia, Chile and Bordeaux. Nicola brings a New World touch to the fruit in this very appealing Cabernet, with its final flourish of vanilla oak. Particularly good with grilled meats.

"A serious Cabernet, yet with a lovely, appealing, ripe fruitiness and tasting of real France" Mark Hoddy
