The Bonfils family may be best known for their award winning Minervois, but at the cooler Luch domaine they also excel with Pinot Noir. Using mature vine Pinot Noir, they have brought out all the charm of this grape’s silky berry fruit and spice.

We’ve been working with the highly awarded Bonfils family at Château Millegrand in Minervois for over a decade. Not only are their wines outstanding, they’ve totted up numerous top awards. This is our first release of their Pinot Noir from another fine estate, Domaine Luch. There they employ Ivo Hasler, a winemaker with experience gained on five continents, but dedicated to the Languedoc for 15 years now. For this wine he chose grapes from mature vines a quarter of a century old, handling the fruit was particular care, with a small portion barrel aged for a little extra complexity. All to ensure a gentle, elegant red with lovely silky fruit and a minimum of rounded tannins. Supple enough for solo drinking, or enjoy with chicken or risotto.

"Drink me anytime sort of Pinot Noir – ravishing and charming and well priced" Mark Hoddy
