Roche Lacour Cuvée de Réserve 2016

Cremant de Limoux AOC

A great value alternative to Champagne, with real class. It's made by the same methods as Champagne, with a high proportion of Chardonnay in this Réserve edition. The result is superb fruit intensity, depth and freshness. A bubbly of distinction.

We’ve listed Roche Lacour for over two decades, and the multitude of awards over the years – and 5-Star reviews – for the 'standard' edition speak volumes. It's our bestselling sparkler by a mile. The winemaker Viviane Gianesini works her magic beneath the cool hills of Limoux. Here, the monks of Saint Hilaire are said to have mastered sparkling wine methods in 1531, centuries ahead of Dom Pérignon. Bottles then were fragile and didn’t travel, so their success remained a secret. This special edition cuvée, rich in Chardonnay, like Champagne, and oak fermented, just like Krug, was long lees aged in bottle and has only just been disgorged. The result is toasty complexity and length, like great Champagne. Chill and find reason to celebrate.
