RedHeads Fenrir Shiraz 2019

Barossa Valley

Sumptuous, tiny-production red to match Australia's finest wine icons. It ticks all the boxes for ‘Grand Cru’ status. From a strip of finest 60+ year old Barossa vines, the tiny-orb grapes account for the inky depth in this powerful Shiraz.

Show judge Mike DeGaris wrote of a previous vintage: “The age of the vineyard, coupled with the sheer quality of the wine makes it comparable to other iconic brands from the region.” The difference is only two barrels were made. The fruit comes from a few specific rows within fifth-generation growers Deb and Matt Poole’s ancient Barossa vineyard. Hand picked, long macerated on the skins, hand plunged and long aged in oak – it has all the credentials. And not just any oak either – wood from cold North America, so it’s tightly grained for structure and vanilla scents. It's named after a monstrous wolf in Norse mythology - the top dog! It’s worth guarding this red as fiercely as Fenrir would. Thankfully the wine's more friendly. Built to age.

"Epic! Huge dark fruit, yet silky smooth, with just enough spice. Finest Shiraz I’ve tasted to date" 5-Star Online Review
