Spice and bramble scented Zinfandel, California’s speciality grape, with a surprising bite of juicy freshness. There’s plenty of concentration too, thanks to small yields in warm Paso Robles. Enjoy silky, ripe blackberry with a gentle lift of spice.
"Cracking red. Didn’t last long, very drinkable and great depth. Going in our favourites"
Online Review For the 2015 vintage
Zinfandel is California’s very own grape variety and nothing tastes quite like it. It produces wines that range in style from pink, sweet and frothy (confusingly called ‘white’ Zinfandel) to serious, full-bodied, weighty reds stuffed with cassis fruit. A little is also made into a fortified version, but here in Saints and Zinners we have a fine wine that’s very much a dinner party red. It was made for us by Clay Brock, who has made wine all over California at top end estates. He was awarded Winemaker of the Year 2010 and proclaims his philosophy as simply “bringing out the magic of what takes place in the vineyard”. He’s obviously done a great job with this rich, juicy red. Best decanted an hour beforehand. Enjoy with a hearty meat dishes.
