More information
Rivalling many a young Rioja, Barrel Selection Tempranillo 2015 is a smooth, fruity red with gentle oak. It’s from Pla de Bages, just northeast of Barcelona, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It was crafted by Montpellier trained Juan Soler at a state of the art winery that sits alongside impressive 800 year old buildings built by the Roqueta family’s distant ancestors. Key to the wine’s fragrance and rich fruit is the altitude of the vineyards and corresponding disparity between day and night temperatures. This ensures a longer growing period for the grapes and greater aroma and flavour. Enjoy this Tempranillo on its own or with spicy Catalan style sausages, chicken, paella type dishes, or char-grilled Mediterranean vegetables.
