Delightful berry fruit and stony freshness in this classic Provence pink. It’s certainly reminiscent of halcyon summer days, but won’t go amiss any time of the year. From a superbly positioned family domaine, this is a delicious, elegant, crisp rosé.

Provence has long been a mecca for fine rosé – wines with lovely berry character balanced by a savoury, creamy richness. Domaine Proux is a new addition to our range, discovered by our Provence Buyer Jean-Marc Sauboua and his long-standing winemaker friend Hervé Sabardeil. Hervé came across this tiny family domaine with some of the finest terroir in the Flassans subregion of Provence. There, long sunshine hours (300 days a year) and sloping, stony soils produce grapes with lovely intensity. Night harvesting helps capture all the freshness too. It’s made from the native varieties Grenache, Cinsault and Counoise – three that excel in this divine pink. Whether skies are drab grey or blue, make sure you have a bottle of this in the fridge.
