It comes from the medieval town of Náchod, where they’ve been perfecting their brewing techniques for centuries. A recent brewery makeover has resulted in a brand new brewhouse and a roomy new cellar, perfect for maturing their fine ales. Made from the purest spring water, this wheat beer is full flavoured and medium bodied with the classic mild bitterness character of the local Saaz hop. It should be served in a tall slender glass to ensure a hearty head. The Czechs would enjoy it with the surprisingly tasty roast pig’s knee, but it’s great, too, with traditional English fare such as pie and mash, or a ploughman’s lunch.
