Founded in 1860, Pieropan is one of the finest producers of the Veneto, making “impossibly delicious Soave Classicos” (Wine Advocate). La Rocca is their top single-vineyard wine, picked late, barrel and lees aged, it matures well, if you can wait!

Until 2018, this family estate was led by Leonildo Pieropan, described as “simply one of Italy’s most gifted and knowledgeable winemakers” (Vinous). Today, the fifth generation continues the great family heritage. Within their 30 hectares of vines they have three single vineyards, all Classico, the very best of which is La Rocca. Made purely from old vine Garganega from the terraced La Rocca vineyard, this is a remarkable Soave. Wine Enthusiast described it as “one of Italy’s most iconic whites”. The grapes are left long on the vine, often till late October, giving texture, richness and aromatics. A year in barrel with extended lees ageing means this wine can age very well, if you can resist. Serve gently chilled with creamy sauced dishes.
