From “Australia's most iconic winery” (Decanter) you have here one of its best loved stars. St Henri is super premium Aussie Shiraz at its most pure, fresh and elegant – with echoes of the legendary reds of the northern Rhône. Unusual for top Australian reds, St Henri does not rely on new oak for depth and complexity. The wine is matured in large, seasoned barrels to soften it and lend complexity, without adding any overly oaky character. The emphasis with St Henri is always on the fruit, which is cherry picked from premium vineyards in the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills. Richly concentrated with layers of ripe black fruits and spiced peppery notes, this is a fine partner with roast meats, especially lamb, or a rich casserole.
