For many, Taylor's is the benchmark of all port houses, described by critic Robert Parker as "the Latour of Portugal”. Established over three centuries ago in 1692, Taylor’s is one of the oldest houses in the Douro. The Fine Ruby is their entry level – a delicious, sweet and fruit-filled port, aged for around two years in large oak barrels. As it ages, the wine gains smoothness and elegance while retaining its fruitiness, intensity and youthful ruby colour. After that, the winemakers blend the different vats to create a wine with just the right balance of gorgeous ripe flavour, spice and structure. The bright fruit notes of the Fine Ruby are particularly good at cutting through the rich flavours of strong cheeses. Or simply savour solo.
