Chat with Vinny
A smooth, complex 16 year old Single Malt from this treasured Speyside distillery. Linkwood’s combination of texture and delicacy makes it highly prized by blenders, so only 1–2% of the distillery’s output is used for single malts. Whisky to savour.
Tasting notes
Honey, butterscotch and citrus with a dry finish
Aroma
Fragrant heathery aroma with notes of caramel
The Linkwood distillery is situated just south of Elgin on the River Lossie in Speyside. It’s a secluded location, home to a host of wildlife including otters and red squirrels. Established in 1821, the distillery has been carefully maintained over the years to preserve its original character – as well as that of its precious malt. In 1971, when the new distillery was built opposite the old buildings, two new stills were introduced. To preserve the unique flavours of Linkwood’s malts, every dent on the old stills was faithfully hammered into the new ones. The whisky is rarely bottled as single malt, so this Old Malt Cask edition, using spirit originally distilled there and matured in barrel for 16 years, is truly a drop to savour.
