Welcome to Puglia, the heel of Italy’s boot – famed for its deeply flavoured reds crafted from the region’s famous native grapes. Well, here’s a crisp new pink, made from Puglia’s very own Bombino Nero, a variety used to add weight and colour to the best wines of Castel del Monte. However, it is also uniquely suited to making crisp, clean, easy drinking rosé. Why? Because the grapes are small and thick skinned and bleed their natural colours quickly and with minimal pressing, meaning the wine in your glass has a great colour, lots of fruit and freshness, but no bitter tannins. And let’s face it, that’s just what you want in a rosé. Chill, pour and enjoy – either as a tasty sharpener or with fresh seafood or a lightly spiced Thai salad.
