Our Buyer Jehan Sacaze is delighted to present his newest Portuguese find – authentic Bairrada from thrice Winemaker of the Year, Osvaldo Amado. He's worked in Spain, Italy, South Africa and Brazil and been head winemaker at this cooperative since 1991. It's a world leading cellar too - founded in 1954, it has twice been named Cooperative of the Year. It's also counted among the Top 100 Wineries of the World. To ensure quality, all the grapes for this red are hand harvested from 15-40 year old vines. The main variety is Baga, renowned for its acidity and tannins – no wonder its wines age so well – here complemented by Aragónez and Touriga Nacional. Enjoy this mellow red with grilled meats, herby tomato butter bean bake or meaty type fish.

"Lovely. Smooth, complex and not too heavy. Tooooo drinkable" 5-Star Online Review
