Argentina's Malbec has become the go-to red for many wine lovers, adored for its supple black fruit and aromatics. This is one from a pioneering estate that, four generations on and 120 years after it was founded, remains in family hands. The Arizus were from the Basque country, Leoncio Arizu arriving in Argentina in 1891. Ten years later he established a winery with the help of the Bosca family from Piedmont. Over the decades they have concentrated on researching the different terroirs – soil and climate – to make the very most of their vineyards. La Linda is from 30 year old vines, planted at 960 metres, so the climate is cool and the wine has ripe fruit and a pleasing elegance. A top red for grilled meats, tomato pasta or a cheesy bake.
