Such is the quality in Chile today that some of Bordeaux’s top names are investing there. Foremost among them are the Rothschild family, whose Château Lafite Rothschild is one of the world’s most revered reds. They co-own the Los Vascos winery with Santa Rita, another highly regarded Chilean estate, and “turn out classy, elegant, stylish wines” (Robert Parker). This fine white from the fashionable, cool climate region Casablanca has all the pure, intensely refreshing flavours you’d want in a Sauvignon, but what really sets it apart is the tremendous elegance and complexity in each delicious, crisp glassful. That’s Lafite’s winemaking expertise. An ideal white wine with smoked salmon, Thai crab cakes or plaice with a creamy lemon sauce.

"Brilliant citrusy white with a stony fresh edge. Classic elegance from Rothschild’s Chilean stable" Davy Zyw
