Los Rosales Chapel Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Rapel

Viña La Rosa is one of Chile’s oldest estates and, thanks to massive investment, among the most technically advanced, too. Add in an idyllic climate and great winemaking and you have a classic Cabernet with lush, velvety plum and cassis fruit.

Founded in 1824 and now run by the seventh generation, the Ossa family’s Viña La Rosa is renowned for estate grown wines like this glorious single vineyard Cabernet. Under the watchful eye of Gonzalo Cárcamo, cool fermentation ensures juicy, dark berry flavour, while a little oak ageing adds spicy complexity. Over the last century the family have greatly expanded the estate, so that today they have 847 hectares in the idyllic Rapel region. Much of it is under vine, but there are also citrus and avocado groves. Grapes benefit from hot days and cold nights, giving full flavour and elegance to the wine, while low yields lend intensity. Velvety, rich and fruity, this wine is smooth enough to enjoy on its own and lovely with red meat dishes.
